So I'm sitting down and forcing myself to write this post even though I feel like collapsing because I figure if I don't start this out on the right foot it's going to have a really hard time gaining any momentum (and because apparently people want to know what I'm up to... who knew?) Also I know I'm going to want these posts later... even if it is only to laugh at them.

My obsession/love affair with Ireland started in the 5th grade when I found in my grandparents collection a tape of the Irish Tenors... and things pretty much spiraled out of control from there.

I don't think it hit me that I was actually going to Ireland, was in the process of going actually, somewhere over St. Lawrence Bay, Canada. I think up to that point I was busy doing things and keeping myself from thinking about it and freaking out... (OK thought I could do this but I can't keep my eyes open anymore... more tomorrow)

An Introduction

Hello out there,

The purpose of this blog is mostly so my friends and family can keep up with me while I am abroad in Ireland. (An inspiration whose credit I must primarily give to my friend Doreen who is abroad in London this semester but seems to be widely done by other people venturing abroad). There probably will not be many posts (unless I feel like documenting my pre-departure experience...which I might) until I am actually abroad at which point I will TRY to update on a regular basis. The reason I am starting this early is so that I can have everything set up here so the only thing I need to do while I am over there is worry about logging in and typing.
